Q.P.R fans are taught from an early age a few things. Expect the worst, Les Ferdinand has been knighted by the Palace and above all others hate Chelsea. I must confess that until recent years I had no problem with ‘The Chels’ however now my blood boils more and more with easing passing victory they claim.
As a native of North London rather than West Chelsea fans weren’t presented to me at every opportunity. I was always far more annoyed with idiot Spurs and Arsenal fans proclaiming their side to be the greatest. In fact the Chelsea fans I knew were all rather civilized. I would even go as far to say that I found them enjoyable to watch when Gullit, Vialli, Di Matteo and Lebouf all graced the pitch at Stamford Bridge. No more though, no more. Now I hate Chelsea above all else, there is NO team I would rather see lose than that lot from down the road.
It isn’t to do with their money. Yes Chelsea are stinking rich and changed the face of football forever, but I don’t begrudge them that. We as Q.P.R fans are in The top flight because of an influx of cash ourselves. It’s more what they did with the money that annoyed me. They were an exciting team, Crespo, Duff and Robben tearing defenses apart at will during Mourinho’s early years. Then a change of heart. Drogba came in to batter all and sundry and Chelsea became a machine, a boring football machine who seemed to suck the joy out of football. They also started stockpiling players, the best example is Shawn Wright-Phillips who was purchased, it seemed, to stop Arsenal from acquiring the diminutive winger. Chelsea soon became a bloated football machine, smashing all before them. And so the hate grew.
But a team is just that, a team. And in their team Chelsea have some deplorable players. I am aware that as a Q.P.R fan writing this I don’t really have a leg to stand on when our captain is Joey Barton, but Chelsea just seem to have a collection of detestable players. Let’s start with the captain. I despise John Terry, not because he diddled with Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend (by far the biggest loser in that whole mess was Terry’s wife who took him back) but more the fact that during The World Cup he took it upon himself to lead the worst ever coup seen in football. I always think of John Terry as that friend you have to constantly apologize for. The one with no social graces who shines a spotlight on your new girlfriends biggest insecurities when you take her down the pub to meet your friends. Everyone in your group of friends kind of accepts him and just lets him be. John Terry seems to have carved out that role for himself nicely in the dressing room, a bit of twat but one that everyone just sort of accepts. Frank Lampard seems a nice enough guy, however he always appeared to be the luckiest player in the world. Deflected shots and penalties do not a a world class player make. Perhaps the reason I hate Lampard so much is that every time he steps up to take a penalty for Chelsea he scores, yet a World Cup Qaurter Final for England he strives to hit the ball as weakly as John terry’s defence that he is a good guy. Lampard has consistently performed for Chelsea, yet never for England and it annoys me no end. Didier Drogba is another player I cannot stand. I would like to take this moment to applaud the Ivorian for his off the field work. He stopped a civil war in his home nation and is constantly working for a better tomorrow for Ivory Coast, the reality is that he is one of a few footballers who qualifies for a Nobel Peace Prize. On the field though he is a joke. Falling over at every opportunity, complaining to referees and then inevitably smashing in a thirty yard screamer to win a game in the last minute. Chelsea fans rightly love him, others cannot stand him. And there’s Ashley Cole…. enough said. There is a new breed of Chelsea players coming through who are actually sort of likable. Sturridge, Mata, McEchrean and David Luiz are all great to watch and the manager is all sorts of sexy. Perhaps there is hope for them yet.
Finally the fans. Oh the fans. Chelsea fans can be crudely split into two groups, those that were there before the money and those that weren’t. Perhaps I am in a minority but I prefer the new fans. Most teams glory hunter fan contingent are something not to be proud of, an albatross around the neck of the history of your club, not so for Chelsea. This is mostly due to the fact that their old fans have a penchant for scummy behavior. By scummy behavior I mean fighting people because of the football team they support. Chelsea are up there with Millwall, West Ham and Leeds in the category of ‘This game should be a bit tasty’ and really there is no place for them in football. I hate the other teams mentioned because violence in football is just so unnecessary. Inevitably there will be fighting around the ground on Sunday and our own contingent of moronic fans deserve to be lambasted for that, yet Chelsea just seem to bring it out of every group of fans in the country.
So there you have it. The most boring spending spree in sport, detestable players and scummy fans. What’s not to love eh? Of course the truth is that a large part of the hatred is jealousy. As Q.P.R sunk like a stone Chelsea rose like a Phoenix, and boy did it hurt. I’m sure the comments section of this piece will be littered with choice language from Chelsea fans, but hey, take it as a compliment that I hate your team. Sunday represents a chance for Q.P.R fans to partake in some spleen venting against the team they hate the most, each one has their own reason for hating Chelsea. Yes we will most likely lose, but I’m relishing it.
QPR News 24/7
Your comments just like yourself and your team are an irrelevance
Sorry mate, we are not flattered easily. Our business is to win every game. Besides who gives a damn about who you do or don’t like?
Well said. We all hate Chelsea.
It makes me laugh the bile from QPR fans. As a Chelsea fan and from west London I know a few QPR fans who have defected to the Arsenal,. Me I never even think about QPR who are a pimple on the Chelsea backside really. They hate us and we don’t hardly notice it. All we hear is how you nearly won the league in 76, Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh. Try channeling your negative energies mate, you are pathetic
im 100% blue fan and im not like some fans u named there, I respect your opinion, you can hate chelsea if you want to im not gonna fight about it, just one thing terry´s life is his life theres no point of hating him, lampard is a good guy u can tell, and he has some amazing goals from distance, if you are gonna hate lampard for the world cup then u have to hate rooney also…… and even worst, drogba is a bit too much dont you think? i dont remember the last time he got a freekick, “his falling for everthing” time is in the past…. actually years ago!! this is just my opinion, hopes everone respect it as i did with this article
chelsea vs queen park is going to be a nice game lets all just be happy for the lost of man city or united or a tie
OK, I don’t come from West London, but from South West London, my older bro and his wife and son have season tickets at Chelsea, and have done for many years before the Russian Mafioso took over. As a kid, most of my mates were Chelsea fans…
I’ve been to Stamford Bridge in the 1970s, stood just behind a group of Chelsea fans I know and did the banter, and we usually won (QPR)…
Even with the Russian bloke taking over, I didn’t hate Chelsea, though I know a lot of my mates do have stories to tell about fighting etc with Chelsea…
Then, in January 2008, we were beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup by Chelsea, fair result, we weren’t humbled, but Chelsea were the best team that day, not surprisingly, and 6,000 QPR fans strolled out of the ground, accepting, but proud of our lads… We had coins thrown at us by Chelsea scum fans outside a pub outside the ground, my mate got hit by a coin, we tried to get at the scum, but the police defended them and attacked US!!
That is the day I decided that Chelsea are scum, maybe daddyblue and Vik were among those scum? Whatever… Chelsea are scum! We’ll likely get stuffed on Sunday, but WE ARE QPR and Chelsea are scum.
if you go to a barcelona vs real madrid game and you are in the away stadium, I BET all of the other fans are going to call you the worst things ever, and hit you with something bigger than a coin…. THIS IS FUTBOL!!! U CANT HATE A CLUB FOR ONE FAN!!! thats just stupid!! im not like thosE fans man, its unffair that u call us scum when i respect QPR and im not like those fans
Well written, You R’s
Sorry bluehero10, you just confirmed what I was talking about… It wasn’t just ONE fan throwing coins or being a tosser, it was many… as I said, I’ve mates and close family who support Chelsea, and I care about them, but you do have some tossers who do support you. You appear to not be one, we have our own nutters, but they’re kids, but what I meant was, that was a turning point, sorry mate, I’m above that crap, and I was up for trouble as a kid, but I’ve grown up.
just saying, dont hate a club cus of some fans,im not like those fans…. and im not gonna hate QPR cus of the referee….
Fair enough, as I said, I’ve family and friends who follow Chelsea, good people, like yourself, OK, I don’t think you all are, and we’ve our tossers too, sadly, anyway, keep on being like you are.
PS I’d love Drogba to play for us
what a pathetic little blogger that takes what he reads in the gutter press and try to spread it as the truth despite the tabloid in question had to apologise and pay up for lying. Not to mention the other pathetic sprouted hatred this little nazi is spewing out. I have always had all the respect in the world for QPR and their fans, but there obviously is a very bad apple in every barrel.
Joey Barton is your captain . . . .you arguments can have no validity whilst this remains the case.
enough said
To be fair, I do address this and say that we are ripe for vitriol with Joey as our captain.
Most qpr know chelsea from years ago when they had a so called rep for being morons starting trouble . Mostly mob handed and tooled up, that has stuck same as the Millwall has . Qpr had their twats as well but were not as many in number so were down the list . The thing is with chelsea a lot have of the fans from then are still as infantile and moronic as they were then . Real 100% twats of the highest order , who when on their own were complete tossers. Without their clan with em they crapped out . they should grow up but thats probably beyond their capability. But then that goes for any team with wankers for fans .
you replied: To be fair, I do address this and say that we are ripe for vitriol with Joey as our captain
But that misses the point – you can’t have something as massive as that flaw in an argument and just acknowledge it and go on. It competely ridicules your whole argument – just give up and hate us for the same reason the rest of your lot do – your team used to be pretty good and then fell well below us, and then we became top class and actually forgot you existed.
HATING STEVE sorry hastingssteve – A whole pub full of Chelsea fans throwing coins at six thousand QPR fans and you retaliate by writing a few paragraphs three years later
. BTW as I have not had a drink since 1978 and don’t go to pubs when I watch Chelsea play I very much doubt that I was throwing coins or anything else at you in 2008.
Hey look on the bright side, you shouldn’t have to worry about us for too long as you will probably be back in the championship next year.
Those ches*** fans that describe us as irrelevant are simply part of the designer sunglasses brigade. Their support started the day that russian bloke decided to buy a club. It’s sad really how much cash he has spent on boring players with no skill such as Essien, Drogba, Kalou, etc. He entered football having be so impressed with Fatnaldo scoring a hatrick against manure at old trafford, a feat righly applauded by the home fans, but he ended up with a boring team which achieved/bought success with a terrible spoiler of a manager in Jose. Desperately, Roman now spends 50M up front for a striker who only now looks to be himself. Roman will be gone when he loses interest in a club with average fans, and chel*** will fall back into the drain from whence they came.
On the other hand, things are gradually getting better at QPR and those of us who watched us play the Tranmere’s and Chesterfield’s will rightly enjoy our recent and hopefully continued success.
Fair enough daddyblue (you’re not my brother are you? lol)… At the time, we were being charged by police on horseback, police with truncheons out, and police with those little horses with sharp teeth aka German Shepherds… Couldn’t respond too much towards the pub at the time, and, as we all know, most of that 6,000 wouldn’t have said boo to a goose, most football fans go to watch the football, not throw coins or other projectiles.
I have little hope for us on Sunday, QPR are definitely the underdogs, that’s life. If we go down, we’ll come back up again, we’ll be back… but I think you miss the point of my message, I’ve family and good friends who support Chelsea, my brother and his wife and son have had season tickets since well before the Russian took over, not just fair weather supporters, I even went with him, as a kid, to Brighton in the 1960s to see Chelsea play in a cup match there, when we queued for the tickets at Stamford Bridge we were advised by a copper to take a tout round the corner, give him a kicking and take his tickets, all for one etc…
I lack bigotry, but little things tip the balance in peoples’ beliefs…
Chelski watch out Rangers r on the march we aint got out to loose. We are progressing nicely it will take time. Look at City! Utd were all smug but now look they are not just a team next door they are players now. With our set up and potential backing we could be closing fast and who knows over take you. Just as a side issue do u Chelski lot remember your time out out of the top flight with a few thousand watching that aint that long ago!

The chelsea fan that described you as irrelevant has supported chelsea since 1966 and I am pretty sure Abramovich was not around then

Ay Shed boy the pimple has got infected you twat! 1-0 mupet
Changed my mind, you can keep Drogba LOL
See the excuses are already coming out, had similar from my bro’s, Chelsea ST holding, mate earlier.. Let’ see, don’t barge into a strker’s back in the penalty area and you may not give away a penalty… don’t pull at someone’s shorts as they’re heading towards goal in case you impede him and your captain is running away from the ball, thus making you the last defender, you may get sent off automatically… oh yes! Don’t slide in two-footed with studs showing, it IS an automatic sending off… and, well, any racist comments, well, we’ll see where they lead to…
Great day to be alive, Rodney Marsh is living on manna
The result of Chelsea fans: “a broken nose, concussion & stitches from kick above my eye…” That was by a group of Chelsea ‘fans’ who jumped on a middle aged man walking along the road with women and girls, and was put in hospital… Chelsea fans, be pleased with yourselves, cowards and bullies, that’s all you are, SCUM…

Just a Gooner that randomly happened upon your thread here… I thought QPR had a fine showing against Chel$ki today, and I must admit, I do admire the heart that the the Hoops display, day in day out. Could have gone either way, which says alot. Chel$ki was lucky to escape with 3 points intact… Some quality possession & distribution, calm control on the ball, a few headers that could have bounced just so… I think QPR deserves to be in the Prem, and I believe they’ll stay up, come May. So I’ll be pulling for the Rangers, as far as it goes. And as to the financial aspect of the game, it is what it is, at this point; bitching about excessive expenditure is like throwing firecrackers at a house fire. The house is already ablaze, so you may as well just enjoy the heat and let the m’f'er burn. The roof may be on fire, but there’s still time to save the family heirlooms. I mean, you gotta pay the cover charge if you wanna light it up at the big dance… alright, my metaphors are getting muddled, but still. It’s about camaraderie. The best TEAM often prevails, and money can’t buy heart. Or spirit. Or glory. So yeah. In the end, it’s all about who wants it more, believes in it more, and loves the game.
Clean Hoop Again!! YESHHH!!
